Factory Style Bolt Kits

We offer bolt kits for almost every application on or around the big block Chrysler engine. No other shop even comes close to the quality and selection of bolts we offer. Most bolts are packaged as kits, and for many applications, we offer many different styles of bolt kits. We have the top of the line ARP bolts, usually available in either polished stainless steel or black oxide finish, or standard high strength grade 8 versions. Or for those wanting something that will look original or just do the job, we carry original factory bolts that are cleaned, inspected and refinished.

Whenever you order bolts, don't forget a tube of ARP assembly lubricant. This is essential to get correct torque on the head, rod and main bolts, and it doesn't hurt to put it on misc other engine bolts as well. One tube is usually enough to do 4 or 5 complete engines, so it's a good investment to keep around the shop.

Our alternator bolts and spacer kit includes everything you need to attach an alternator to your engine. We even powder coat the spacers black for a finished look. Use these with the triangular style alternator bracket sets on our Alternator parts page.

No other vendor includes the CORRECT length bolts for this kit. Even ARP's pre-packaged complete engine bolt kits do not come with the correct length alternator mounting bolts. They are a custom made length, not available off the shelf. Special reduced diameter 12pt head design ensures no clearance problems during installation. If you have a stroker engine with aftermarket components, roller cam, etc... these are must have item. You simply can not put in stronger bolts than these.

BRAND NEW REPRODUCTION bolt and special washer for attaching the camshaft sprocket to the the camshaft on all single bolt models. These have been long discontinued by Chrysler, and we couldn't find them anywhere, so we reproduced the unique washer and sourced the bolt in a super strong grade 8 version. These fit all years and all engines with single bolt sprocket. Will not work with 3 bolt cams.

Crank Flange (Automatic Wedge):

Our ARP Flexplate to crank bolt kits are the strongest bolts you can get to attach a 6 bolt crank to flexplate for high horsepower and/or highly stressed applications. Made from 200,000 PSI forged aerospace alloy, these were originally developed for NASCAR winston cup competition. The bolts are fully heat treated prior to thread rolling and machining. Flat 12pt head design ensures no clearance problems during installation. These will also work for attaching the flexplate to the torque converter with Hemi or aftermarket racing torque converters that have  7/16" bolt holes (only 4 are required for this application, so you will have a couple spares.) Package of cleaned and refinished original factory bolts to attach any 6 bolt flexplate (automatic trans.) to any 6 bolt crankshaft. Originally sold by Chrysler as part #1949424. For those who want strength and performance, but are still on a tight budget, we've sourced our own set of head bolts as well. Priced at nearly HALF of the name brand bolts, these are custom made for us by one of the largest bolt manufacturers in the USA. They feature a reduced diameter 12 point heads for easy access in applications that have countersunk head bolts (such as our Stealth aluminum heads or Edelbrock Performer RPM heads), but they also work great with factory iron heads. Rated at 170,000 PSI, they are far stronger that the factory head bolts, or even a standard type grade 8 bolt. We even include .100" thick head washers with them. One set contains enough bolts for two heads (one complete engine.) A great 100% USA made choice, strong enough for 98% of applications,  at a price that won't break the bank!

Damper:

This super cool damper bolt has a 1/2" drive socket built into it, which makes it super easy to turn over your engine by hand with a breaker bar or ratchet. Very nice for degreeing cams or adjusting valves. It's 190,000 PSI steel, American made by ARP and also includes the  fully machined special washer. Both are finished in black oxide. These work with ALL of our aftermarket Dampers, as well as all factory big block dampers (except for 426 Hemi and some Industrial applications.)

Main Caps:

When bolts just aren't strong enough, you have to go to main studs. Our ARP main cap stud kit are the strongest main studs you can buy for the big block Mopar engine. Made from start to finish right here in Southern California, they are forged from aircraft quality 8740 Chrome Moly steel that exceeds the most stringent aircraft quality standards. They have features like J-form threads that are rolled after heat treating to give a strength that is 1000% stronger than some of the other studs on the market. Yes, that's 1000%, not 100%. EACH STUD has a capacity of 200,000 pounds per square inch! Parallel ground and hardened washers (shown above) are also included. Finished in black oxide for good looks and corrosion resistance. Oil Pan Drain Plug:

We also have brand new replacement oil pan drain plugs with a magnet fixed inside them to catch any stray metal bits before they make their way back into the oil pump and through the motor. Power Steering:

Our power steering bolt kit includes every bolt, nut and washer needed to attach our power steering brackets (part #127-1006) to both the engine and the power steering pump. We even include the impossible to find special locknut to secure the power steering pulley to the pump, (for use on early style Saginaw pumps only) and the special double ended studs which attach the rear bracket to the back of the pump. And, we supply all the hardware in a high strength & high grade version.

Pulley, Crankshaft (lower):

Shown above is our NEW special bolt kit for attaching the lower (crankshaft) pulley to the damper. These are a unique application, since the register (or centering ring) on big block dampers is very close to the heads of the bolts. This means a standard "hardware store" type bolt & washer cannot be used in this application, since the edge of the washer will interfere with the lip of the register. The special reduced diameter lock washers on these bolts eliminate the interference problem. Package includes six bolts.

Shown above is our NEW special bolt kit for attaching our BILLET ALUMINUM lower (crankshaft) pulleys to the damper. These are a unique application, since our billet aluminum pulleys are thicker than a standard stamped steel pulley, so the bolt must be made longer to ensure it will have full thread engagement into the damper. These slightly longer bolts ensure the pulley will be attached perfectly. And the recessed Allen head drive looks great and makes them easy to install and remove with the engine in the car. Rear Seal Cap:

Rear Main Seal Cap Bolts. These are the very specialized countersunk bolts that hold the Aluminum Rear main seal cap to the block. These are BRAND NEW, and feature some design improvements over the original factory bolts, such as a thicker underhead washer surface. Finished in black oxide for good looks and corrosion resistance. The 3/8" 12 point wrench surface on the originals can become rounded off, and removal then requires basically destroying the rear main seal cap, so go with these brand new ones for extra insurance. Our ARP polished stainless steel timing cover bolt kits are exactly what people mean when they say "show quality." Made from ARP's proprietary "300" stainless steel alloy, they are rated at a minimum 170,000 PSI, which is even stronger than a grade 8 bolt! And, you can't beat the quality, shine and corrosion resistance of polished stainless. Nothing resists the ravages of weather, time and even repeated tightening and loosening like stainless. These are truly maintenance free! On factory timing cover bolts, the lower 4 are larger diameter than the upper 4, meaning you must change wrench or socket size when changing the timing cover. These are nice because they feature a reduced diameter 3/8" drive 12pt head on both the large and small bolts, so there is no need to change the wrench or socket when attaching or removing the cover for cam timing changes, etc. Matching polished stainless washers are included. Torque Converter:

Our ARP torque converter to flexplate bolt kits are the strongest bolts you can get to attach your torque converter to flexplate for high horsepower and/or highly stressed applications. Made from 200,000 PSI forged aerospace alloy, these were originally developed for NASCAR winston cup competition. The bolts are fully heat treated prior to thread rolling and machining. Finished in black oxide for good looks and corrosion resistance. Flat 12pt head design ensures no clearance problems during installation. If you have a stroker engine with aftermarket components, high stall converter, etc... these are must have item. You simply can not put in stronger bolts than these. These are the smaller 5/16" bolts. Some aftermarket converters use a larger 7/16" bolt instead. For these applications use our 129-1003 kit.

Water Pump:

Shown above is our NEW special bolt kit for attaching the water pump to the water pump housing when using our BILLET ALUMINUM water pump pulleys. These are a unique application, since our billet aluminum pulleys are thicker than a standard stamped steel pulley. This puts the rear of the pulley very close to the bolt heads, so the head of the bolt must be made into a certain rounded "button" shape to allow adequate clearance in this area. These bolts are just the ticket for a perfect installation. And the recessed Allen head drive looks great and makes them easy to install and remove with the engine in the car. Will also work with standard stamped steel pulleys if desired. Package includes four bolts.

Part No: 109-1518 - Bolts - Water Pump to Housing (4) - w/ Billet Alum Pulleys - Price: $7.95

Shown here is our package of 4 bolts which are used to attach the water pump to the water pump housing. The factory installed these bolts without any washers, and we do not include or recommend using washers with these bolts. Using washers can raise the heads of the bolts, and cause them to make contact with the water pump pulley in some applications.

Our water pump housing bolt kit includes the bolts shown below to attach a water pump housing to your engine block. Supplied in a good looking gold iridite finish. The missing bolt on the lower left side is included with our 109-1511 "Alternator bolt kit," since the type of alternator brackets being used will affect the length of this bolt. The missing bolt on the upper right hand side of the housing is used to hold the power steering brackets on (used only with power steering cars, of course) and it is supplied with our 109-1513 "Power steering bolt kit" if needed.
