Factory Style Bolt Kits

We offer bolt kits for almost every application on or around the big block Chrysler engine. No other shop even comes close to the quality and selection of bolts we offer. Most bolts are packaged as kits, and for many applications, we offer many different styles of bolt kits. We have the top of the line ARP bolts, usually available in either polished stainless steel or black oxide finish, or standard high strength grade 8 versions. Or for those wanting something that will look original or just do the job, we carry original factory bolts that are cleaned, inspected and refinished.

Whenever you order bolts, don't forget a tube of ARP assembly lubricant. This is essential to get correct torque on the head, rod and main bolts, and it doesn't hurt to put it on misc other engine bolts as well. One tube is usually enough to do 4 or 5 complete engines, so it's a good investment to keep around the shop.

Alternator:

Our alternator bolts and spacer kit includes everything you need to attach an alternator to your engine. We even powder coat the spacers black for a finished look. Use these with the triangular style alternator bracket sets on our Alternator parts page.

These are truly maintenance free! Matching polished stainless washers are included. Considering these bolts are located at the front top of the engine, they're one of the first things you see when the hood is opened, so small details like this can really make a car "show quality." No other vendor includes the CORRECT length bolts for this kit. Even ARP's pre-packaged complete engine bolt kits do not come with the correct length alternator mounting bolts. They are a custom made length, not available off the shelf. You can be assured that at 440 Source, we've done our homework, and you'll be getting the correct, factory original length bolts for this application.

Our ARP Camshaft bolt kits are the strongest bolts you can get to attach a 3 bolt cam to a timing set for high horsepower and/or highly stressed applications. Made from 200,000 PSI forged aerospace alloy, these were originally developed for NASCAR winston cup competition. The bolts are fully heat treated prior to thread rolling and machining. Special reduced diameter 12pt head design ensures no clearance problems during installation. If you have a stroker engine with aftermarket components, roller cam, etc... these are must have item. You simply can not put in stronger bolts than these.

Carburetor:

We now carry carb stud kits. These work great with Holley 4150 carbs. Length is 1-3/8" long. Includes studs, nuts and washers. Zinc plated for corrosion resistance and good looks. A small detail that is often forgotten. Make sure these details are taken care of, and it'll be one less thing to hold up your build. We also carry other carburetor essentials such as gaskets, return spring kits, fuel lines, etc.

Crank Flange (Automatic Wedge):

Our ARP Flexplate to crank bolt kits are the strongest bolts you can get to attach a 6 bolt crank to flexplate for high horsepower and/or highly stressed applications. Made from 200,000 PSI forged aerospace alloy, these were originally developed for NASCAR winston cup competition. The bolts are fully heat treated prior to thread rolling and machining. Flat 12pt head design ensures no clearance problems during installation. These will also work for attaching the flexplate to the torque converter with Hemi or aftermarket racing torque converters that have  7/16" bolt holes (only 4 are required for this application, so you will have a couple spares.) If you have a stroker engine with aftermarket components, high stall, etc... these are must have item. You simply can not put in stronger bolts than these.

Package of cleaned and refinished original factory bolts to attach any 6 bolt flexplate (automatic trans.) to any 6 bolt crankshaft. Originally sold by Chrysler as part #1949424. Damper:

This super cool damper bolt has a 1/2" drive socket built into it, which makes it super easy to turn over your engine by hand with a breaker bar or ratchet. Very nice for degreeing cams or adjusting valves. It's 190,000 PSI steel, American made by ARP and also includes the  fully machined special washer. Both are finished in black oxide. These work with ALL of our aftermarket Dampers, as well as all factory big block dampers (except for 426 Hemi and some Industrial applications.)

Oil Pump:

Bolt kit for Melling M63HV High Volume Oil Pump. Because the Melling High Volume pumps use taller rotors and a larger body, for proper thread depth engagement when bolting the pump to the block, they require slightly longer bolts than a standard pump would. Power Steering:

Our power steering bolt kit includes every bolt, nut and washer needed to attach our power steering brackets (part #127-1006) to both the engine and the power steering pump. We even include the impossible to find special locknut to secure the power steering pulley to the pump, (for use on early style Saginaw pumps only) and the special double ended studs which attach the rear bracket to the back of the pump. And, we supply all the hardware in a high strength & high grade version.

Pulley, Crankshaft (lower):

Shown above is our NEW special bolt kit for attaching the lower (crankshaft) pulley to the damper. These are a unique application, since the register (or centering ring) on big block dampers is very close to the heads of the bolts. This means a standard "hardware store" type bolt & washer cannot be used in this application, since the edge of the washer will interfere with the lip of the register. The special reduced diameter lock washers on these bolts eliminate the interference problem. Package includes six bolts.

Rear Seal Cap:

Rear Main Seal Cap Bolts. These are the very specialized countersunk bolts that hold the Aluminum Rear main seal cap to the block. These are BRAND NEW, and feature some design improvements over the original factory bolts, such as a thicker underhead washer surface. Finished in black oxide for good looks and corrosion resistance. The 3/8" 12 point wrench surface on the originals can become rounded off, and removal then requires basically destroying the rear main seal cap, so go with these brand new ones for extra insurance. Sold in sets of 2. Use one set per engine.

Torque Converter:

Our ARP torque converter to flexplate bolt kits are the strongest bolts you can get to attach your torque converter to flexplate for high horsepower and/or highly stressed applications. Made from 200,000 PSI forged aerospace alloy, these were originally developed for NASCAR winston cup competition. The bolts are fully heat treated prior to thread rolling and machining. Finished in black oxide for good looks and corrosion resistance. Flat 12pt head design ensures no clearance problems during installation. If you have a stroker engine with aftermarket components, high stall converter, etc... these are must have item. You simply can not put in stronger bolts than these. These are the smaller 5/16" bolts. Some aftermarket converters use a larger 7/16" bolt instead. For these applications use our 129-1003 kit.

Using studs for the valve covers allows the gasket to be properly positioned while the valve cover is guided into position. Water Pump:

Our water pump housing bolt kit includes the bolts shown below to attach a water pump housing to your engine block. Supplied in a good looking gold irridite finish. The missing bolt on the lower left side is included with our 109-1511 "Alternator bolt kit," since the type of alternator brackets being used will affect the length of this bolt. The missing bolt on the upper right hand side of the housing is used to hold the power steering brackets on (used only with power steering cars, of course) and it is supplied with our 109-1513 "Power steering bolt kit" if needed.
