Flexplates:

We carry both aftermarket performance flexplates, and stock replacement type flexplates in new and used versions.

Our new super strong solid flexplate is an awesome value. Strong enough to stay together behind even the highest horsepower applications, these work great for hot street cars as well. 440 Source is an official SFI approved participating manufacturer. The SFI foundation performs destructive testing on sample flexplates to ensure that the steel used meets their stringent requirements. This means they literally rip the metal apart while measuring how much force it takes for it to bend, stretch and finally break. SFI's minimum specifications to certify a flexplate to pass their 29.1 testing includes a yield strength of 40,000 pounds, a tensile strength of 60,000 pounds, and a maximum 10 percent elongation. Our flexplates not only passed the testing, but far exceeded SFI's minimum specs. Our yield strength was 52,700 pounds (over 30% stronger than required). Our tensile strength was 67,520 pounds (over 12% stronger than required) and our elongation was 28% (almost 3 times the required minimum!) Not only do you get this kind of GUARANTEED quality, but you get it at a fraction of the cost of the name brand units.

These  includes all possible bolt patterns; Large with 5/16" bolts, small with 5/16" bolts, and 7/16" bolts for all aftermarket high performance and racing high stall converters. These are for internal (neutral) balance, they have no weights welded on them. This flexplate fits all standard 6 bolt crank flanges, and works for both big block AND small block applications!!

Part No: 200-1084 - SFI APPROVED Solid Flexplate - 6 bolt - Neutral balance. NEW. Price: $36.95

Our new super strong solid flexplate is an awesome value. Strong enough to stay together behind even the highest horsepower applications, these work great for hot street cars as well. These are the SAME EXACT FLEXPLATE, made from the same steel and the same machinery as our aftermarket SFI 29.1 flexplate, however we DO NOT include the SFI sticker with these. We found that many of our customers are using these in street/strip applications and while they want the extra strength of these solid flexplates, they don't want to have to pay extra for the "approval" sticker. So, now we also offer them at an EVEN LOWER price if you don't need the official "SFI approval" sticker.

Part No: 200-1040 - Solid Flexplate - 6 bolt - Neutral balance. NEW. Price: $29.95

Don't forget high strength bolts for your flexplate! Our ARP Flexplate to crank bolt kits are the strongest bolts you can get to attach a 6 bolt crank to flexplate for high horsepower and/or highly stressed applications. Made from 200,000 PSI forged aerospace alloy, these were originally developed for NASCAR winston cup competition. The bolts are fully heat treated prior to thread rolling and machining. Flat 12pt head design ensures no clearance problems during installation. These will also work for attaching the flexplate to the torque converter with Hemi or aftermarket racing torque converters that have  7/16" bolt holes (only 4 are required for this application, so you will have a couple spares.) If you have a stroker engine with aftermarket components, high stall, etc... these are must have item. You simply can not put in stronger bolts than these.

Part No: 129-1003 - ARP Bolt Kit - 6 bolt Flexplate to Crank - Price: $14.95

Stock Replacement Type Flexplates:

Flexplates first came into use in car applications in 1962. Two different types are used, commonly referred to as "Large" and "Small." The large flexplate has a bolt pattern of 11 1/8" (measuring across the plate from the center of one hole to the center of the opposite hole.) The small has a pattern of 10". Usually the small flexplates are used with 10 3/4 diameter torque converters (commonly referred to as 11") and the large flexplates are used with 11 3/4 (commonly referred to as 12") converters. The vast majority of plates use six 7/16" bolts to attach to the back of the crankshaft along with four 5/16" bolts to attach to the torque converter, while some special heavy duty applications such as hemis will use eight 1/2" crankshaft bolts (spaced farther away from the crankshaft centerline than the 6 bolt setup) and four 7/16" bolts for the converter. All previously mentioned bolts will be fine thread. The table below details which plates the factory originally used for which application, and the highlighted yellow areas indicate flexplates we have in stock. The best method for selecting the flexplate you need however, is to measure the torque converter you are going to use, and then order based on those measurements. An easy tip for quick identification at swap meets is to note the difference between the holes. As you can see in the pictures below, the large flexplates will have perfectly round holes, while the small ones will have holes that are more "D" shaped. We offer both flexplates new and used. Don't forget to scroll down to the bottom of the page for attaching bolts and an application table. .
