Freeze Plugs & Block Hardware

We offer a large selection of freeze (expansion) plugs. We even offer the early "disc style" plugs for 1958-63 engines. Kits are now even available in new Stainless Steel! All kits include 4 allen plugs. All kits (even brass kits)  include a steel cam plug, as this plug is not usually susceptible to rust. Scroll down for other hard to find hardware as well such as dowel pins, pipe plugs, etc.

Shown above is our Brass Freeze Plug kit. Includes block plugs, oil galley pipe plugs and cam plug. A nice upgrade from the standard steel kits, brass has much better resistance to corrosion.

Part No: 200-1009 - Freeze Plug Kit - Brass - Price: $12.95

Shown above is our Stainless Steel Freeze Plug Kit. These recently came on the market. Stainless steel has extraordinary resistance to chemicals and corrosion, and looks pretty sharp as well. A rare combination of good looks and functionality. Kit includes EVERY plug you will need for the engine, including the cylinder heads.

Part No: 200-1011 - Freeze Plug Kit - Stainless Steel - Price: $17.95

When we started building our own engines, we found there were all kinds of pipe plug fittings around the engine that we were always trying to scrounge up the correct plugs for from the bottom of a drawer somewhere, or having to make a trip to the local hardware store to find. So we decided to put together a convenient kit which includes every single one of the ten pipe plugs you will need for the entire outside of the engine. This kit includes the following plugs:

1. The plugs for both oil galley ports in the top rear of the block. Normally one of these ports would be used for an oil pressure sending unit, but depending on the type of sending unit you are using, the size of thread can vary. So we include both sizes so you'll be sure to have the one you need.
2. The plug which covers the port into which the fuel pump pushrod is installed.
3. Four plugs for the ports in our (and others) aftermarket aluminum water pump housings. Two of these ports would normally be used for heater hoses, and the other two are for temp. sending units. One is large and one is small, depending on the type of temp sending unit you are using, and whether it is for a light or a gauge. Again, we include both sizes so you'll be sure to have the one you need.
4. The 2 coolant drain plugs at the lower edge of the outside skirt of the block (below the freeze plugs.) One is on the drivers side of the block, the other is on the passenger side. These are located at the lowest point of the water level in the blocks water jackets, (near the oil pan) so they come in handy if you need to fully drain the coolant out of the block.
5. And finally, most aftermarket intakes (Edelbrock, etc) include a vacuum port in the top of the intake for power brakes, etc. Just in case you're not using this port, we include the plug for it also.

Four internal oil galley pipe plugs will also be needed, they are included with the freeze plug kits listed above.

Part No: 101-1075 - Pipe Plug Block Kit - NEW. Price: $9.95. (that's less than a buck per plug...)

Shown above are our BRAND NEW fuel pump pushrods. These work for all big block engines, all years. Why clean up and reuse a worn out factory piece when we offer these brand new ones at such a good price?

Part No: 200-1027 - Fuel Pump Pushrod - NEW. Price: $9.95.

These are the small freeze plugs that press into the ends of the rocker shafts. These are often overlooked, but we strongly recommend that during teardown or inspection, you remove the old plugs and thoroughly clean the inside of the shafts with a bottle brush before installing new plugs. Sold in a package of 4. Use one package per engine. Cheap insurance.

Part No: 101-1023 - Freeze Plugs - Rocker shaft - Package of 4 - New. Price: $6.95

Shown above is a special freeze plug recommended for modifying the oiling system on big blocks that are running a solid or roller cam (never do this with a hydraulic cam.) Use one per engine. This is a quick, easy and almost free oil system modification.

This special freeze plug should be driven into the DRIVERS side oil galley from the rear to about 1 1/4" deep, or just past the cross drilled supply passage that runs across the back of the block, (the one that ends where the oil sending unit usually attaches.) This will cut off pressurized oil to the drivers side oil galley, preserving more oil for where it is needed, such as bearings, etc.

Unfortunately, the only way to cut off supply to the passenger side galley is to install a bushing in each lifter bore individually (you must have a knowledgeable machine shop do this) or by pressing in a brass tube and "dimpling" it to clear the lifters.

Part No: 101-1060 - Freeze Plug - Oil Galley Blockoff - Package of 1 - New. Price: $6.95

These are the Dowel Pins that fit into the deck and align the cylinder heads during assembly. These should be replaced whenever the deck is surfaced on a block. Comes in a package of 4. Use one package per engine. Another hard to find necessity. These also work for the timing cover locating dowels. Use 2 per engine for this purpose.

Part No: 101-1016 - Dowel Pins - Package of 4 - New. Price: $6.95

While replacing your intermediate shaft, don't forget to replace the bushing as well. Our aftermarket bronze bushings are a significant improvement over the factory aluminum units which were Chrysler part #1737725 from 1958-67, and then 2863584 from 1968-end of production. Fits all engines, all years. (even small blocks.) The old ones are easy to remove with the oil pump off, just tap them out from the oil pump side with the right size socket & extension or piece of rod stock, etc.

Part No: 101-1001 - Intermediate Shaft Bushing- Bronze - New. Price: $7.95

New Heavy Duty Alloy woodruff key. Use for all engines, all years. Package of ONE woodruff key. Two different styles are made, both are shown above, and interchange 100%. Part may be either style, depending on stock.

Part No: 101-1017 - HD Alloy Woodruff Key - NEW -  Price: $6.95.

Available in both Brass and Steel versions. These kits include EVERY plug you will need for the engine, including the cylinder heads and cam.

Part No: 200-1012 - Early Style Disc Plug Kit - Steel  - Price: $19.95
