Intermediate shafts

Shown above is our brand new Heavy Duty intermediate shaft. These feature a heavy duty steel gear which is pinned to the shaft, as well as a radiused taper for extra strength where the shaft transitions into a hex drive for the oil pump. Finally, a high quality heavy duty distributor shaft at a price comparable to stock replacement units!

These work great with our high volume oil pumps. Don't forget a new bushing as well, (pictured below.)

Shown above is our brand new Heavy Duty intermediate shaft with BRONZE gear. These feature a heavy duty gear made from ASTM standard 63020 Nickel Aluminum Bronze alloy. The gear is pinned to the shaft to help with gear retention under heavy loads (such as high volume oil pumps), as well as a radiused taper for extra strength where the shaft transitions into a hex drive for the oil pump. These are for use only with solid billet roller cams which cannot use a standard steel distributor drive gear. Finally, a high quality heavy duty BRONZE GEAR intermediate shaft at a price that's less than HALF of the major name brand units!

These work great with our high volume oil pumps. Don't forget a new bushing as well, (pictured below.)

Shown above is our brand new Heavy Duty intermediate shaft. Made in the USA by Melling engine parts. They've been making oil pumps and intermediate shafts for over 6 decades, and these are the highest quality units we've found on the market. These work great with our high volume oil pumps. The factory version of these was originally sold as Chrysler part# 1739604. These will work with all car and light truck engines, all years. Don't forget a new bushing as well, (pictured below.)

While replacing your intermediate shaft, don't forget to replace the bushing as well. Our aftermarket bronze bushings are a significant improvement over the factory aluminum units which were Chrysler part #1737725 from 1958-67, and then 2863584 from 1968-end of production. Fits all engines, all years. (even small blocks.) The old ones are easy to remove with the oil pump off, just tap them out from the oil pump side with the right size socket & extension or piece of rod stock, etc.

Part No: 101-1001 - Intermediate Shaft Bushing- Bronze - New. Price: $7.95

Shown above is a BRAND NEW shaft for Heavy duty trucks and Motorhome 413's using the factory gear drive and reverse rotation cam setup. Look closely and you will see the teeth on this shaft go in the opposite direction of the standard type pictured above. This shaft uses a standard style gear, so any RB distributor should work (assuming you are using it in an RB engine.) Notice the heat treating on the oil pump drive end. This is a VERY hard part to find.
