Rocker Arms and Shafts

We carry a huge variety of rocker arms, shafts and associated hardware. From aftermarket adjustable roller rockers to new and used stock replacement stamped rockers, we have a setup available for nearly every engine combination. All big block rocker shafts measure about 20 1/4 inches long, so be careful not to get them confused with small block shafts which look identical but are more than an inch shorter at about 18 7/8".

Our brand new aftermarket aluminum roller rockers are an unbelievable value! Made out of aircraft quality certified 2024 aluminum alloy, these arms are formed using a hydraulic extrusion process under 1500 tons of pressure, giving these arms an incredible 60,000 PSI tensile strength! They are fully CNC machined, and finally anodized for additional durability and corrosion protection. These sets come complete with 16 arms, 2 shafts, 16 adjusters and 16 locknuts, and are available in 1.5 and 1.6 ratios. When purchasing these rocker arms, we strongly recommend using our .650" spacers listed below (part #113-1018) to locate the arms on the shafts, and our shim package (part #105-1018)  to center each arm exactly over each valve tip, and set the endplay, which should be about .015"-.030". For shaft holddowns, we recommend using our aftermarket billet aluminum holddowns listed below (part #200-1032.) These are what is shown in the above pictures. Please note again they ARE NOT INCLUDED automatically with these sets. See below for more details.

Our rockers use extra heavy duty NSK licensed large fulcrum needle bearings between the arm and the shaft (shown in the picture above,) so friction is reduced (and therefore additional horsepower is gained) between the arm and the shaft, as well as between the valve and the the roller tip. These bearings are rated up to valve spring loads of 600 pounds open pressure (which includes most cams in the .500-.600" lift range.) Be careful not to confuse these with some other rockers on the market which offer a much cheaper and easier to manufacture design of a solid aluminum rocker which offers the roller tip, but runs the aluminum of the rocker body directly against the shaft, a setup which produces much more friction and wears the arms out extremely quickly. Since these feature the roller bearing, and a super hard roller tip hardened to 60 on the Rockwell C scale, these will work just as well on a high mileage street car as they do on a drag only setup. They also feature pressurized oiling of the pushrod ball/cup area, and a generous valve spring clearance relief in the underside of the body (shown above.)

Part No: 200-1045 - Aluminum Roller Rockers/shafts - 1.5 Ratio - NEW -  Price: $214.95 (clear polished aluminum) TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK

Part No: 200-1046 - Aluminum Roller Rockers/shafts - 1.6 Ratio - NEW -  Price: $214.95 (clear polished aluminum)

Shown above on the right are the super heavy duty .165" wall thickness rocker shafts that are INCLUDED with (and developed specifically for) these rocker arms. Thinwall, light duty rocker shafts supplied with "the competitions" roller rocker sets are shown on the left for comparison. In addition to the much heavier wall thickness, our HD shafts are made from solid 4340 steel. This helps the shafts to maintain perfect roundness under extreme loads, and allows the holddowns to be tightened to the proper torque without distorting or "ovaling," which is a common problem with the thinner shafts. We also sell our heavy duty shafts separately as an upgrade or replacement part for use with other companies rocker arms.

Part No: 113-1009 - Replacement 4340 Super Heavy Duty Rocker Shafts (pair) - NEW -  Price: $89.95

Our billet aluminum rocker holddown sets are fully machined from 6061 T-6 aluminum, blue anodized for good looks, and include genuine ARP 12 point hardware (bolts and washers.) These work great with our aluminum roller rocker sets or most any aftermarket type roller rockers.

Part No: 200-1032 - Aluminum Rocker Holddown Set - Price: $$59.95

With any performance type aftermarket roller rockers, it is necessary to "set up" the valvetrain. Because of different cylinder heads/tolerances/past machine work, etc, the exact positioning of the valves can vary slightly. A large part of setting up a performance valvetrain involves using shims to position the rocker arms at the correct point on the shaft so that the roller tip is exactly centered or aligned over the valve stem tip. We offer these packages of special .015" thick rocker shaft shims for this purpose. Use these in conjunction with the correct spacers and shaft holddowns to position the rockers where they need to be. We recommend using these with all of our aftermarket roller rockers, as well as rockers from other aftermarket companies. Not needed with stock stamped type rockers.

Part No: 105-1018 - Rocker Shaft .015" Shims (approx 36) - NEW -  Price: $19.95

As a compliment to our aluminum roller rocker sets, we recommend these .650 wide spacers which fit between each pair of intake and exhaust rockers and keep the rockers located where they are supposed to be on the shafts. Use these with the shims listed above for proper alignment. These are fully machined and black oxide coated. They work great with many other brands of roller rockers also. These are supplied in a set of 8, which is enough for one complete engine.

Part No: 113-1018 - Rocker Shaft .650" Spacers (Set of 8) - NEW -  Price: $14.95 (when purchased with rocker arms)

Part No: 113-1018 - Rocker Shaft .650" Spacers (Set of 8) - NEW -  Price: $19.95 (when purchased separately)

To give the engine builder even more flexibility, we also offer these .125" (eighth inch) thick rocker arm spacers. These are fully machined and black oxide coated. Use as needed.

Part No: 113-1017 - Rocker Shaft .125" Spacers (Set of 16) - NEW -  Price: $19.95

Shown above are our Rocker Shaft Spacer Rings, used in between each pair of rocker arms. These are approx. .200" thick, and should be used only with stock (stamped steel type) rockers. These are refinished original factory pieces. Sold in a package of 4. For a stock application, this is enough for one head, so use 2 packages per engine. (8 rings total.)

Part No: 100-1107 - Rocker Arm Spacer Rings - Used - Package of 4 - Price: $9.95

These are the small freeze plugs that press into the ends of the rocker shafts. These are often overlooked, but we strongly recommend that during teardown or inspection, you remove the old plugs and thoroughly clean the inside of the shafts with a bottle brush before installing new plugs. Sold in a package of 4. Use one package per engine. Cheap insurance. THESE WORK WITH FACTORY SHAFTS ONLY.

Part No: 101-1023 - Freeze Plugs - Rocker shaft - Package of 4 - New. Price: $6.95
