Valley Pans and Accessories This page covers "valley pans" which are sometimes referred to as "bathtub gaskets." It's the piece of sheet metal or stamped steel which fits below the intake manifold and seals off the lifter valley. We carry several different types, from the original stock replacement versions, to slick aftermarket fabricated sheet metal versions for use with aftermarket aluminum heads. We also carry the accessories which hold the valley pan on, such as the "holddown bars" and the bolts. It's important to note that "B" (low deck) and "RB" (tall deck) engines both use different widths of both valley pans and holddown bars. Since the "RB" engine's deck is raised, this increases the distance between the heads, making it necessary to use a different intake manifold, valley pan gasket, and holddown bars. |

| Our fabricated sheet metal valley
pans work great with our aluminum Stealth heads, Edelbrock RPM heads, or any
other aftermarket heads which feature an unbroken deck surface where the
lower edge of the head's deck surface meets the edge of the valley pan. It
will also work with factory cylinder heads, however there may be a small gap
where the lower deck surface has a break which may need to be filled with
silicone, depending on the intake manifold you are using. The pan is shown
upside down in the picture. When it is installed, the "lips" along the long
sides will fit underneath the edge of the cylinder heads, making a tight
seal and allowing the use of standard intake port gaskets. This pan is
designed to work with SINGLE PLAIN INTAKES only. Dual plane intakes
(including stock units) will not fit due to the exhaust crossover which
hangs down underneath them. See the pan below if you are using a dual plane
intake Because this pan is a single solid piece which
fits "under" the cylinder head intake face edges, it requires at
least one cylinder head to be off during installation or removal.
Supplied in a gold irridite finish for good looks and corrosion resistance. We carry these in two different versions, one for the "RB" (413/426/440) engines and one for the "B" (361/383/400) engines. Be sure to select the correct one for the type of engine you are working on. Part No: 127-1009 - Sheet Metal Valley Pan - Single Plain - RB Engine - Price: $29.95 Part No: 127-1011 - Sheet Metal Valley Pan - Single Plain - B Engine - Price: $29.95 |

| This valley pan is the same as above,
except it features a clearance well which will clear the exhaust crossover
found in many aftermarket dual plane intakes. This model works great with Performer RPM intakes.
The RB Version works with the standard Edelbrock performer (non-RPM) but the
B version requires the Performer RPM. These do not work with stock cast iron intakes. Our fabricated sheet metal valley
pans work great with our aluminum Stealth heads, Edelbrock RPM heads, or any
other aftermarket heads which feature an unbroken deck surface where the
lower edge of the head's deck surface meets the edge of the valley pan. It
will also work with factory cylinder heads, however there may be a small gap

fits "under" the cylinder head intake face edges, it requires at

| Our ARP black oxide coated valley pan
holddown bar bolt kits are exactly what people mean when they say "show
quality." Made from start to finish right here in Southern California, they
are forged from aircraft quality 8740 Chrome Moly steel that exceeds the
most stringent aircraft quality standards, and are rated at a minimum
170,000 PSI, which is even stronger than a grade 8 bolt! These feature a
reduced diameter 12 pt. head. Matching black oxide washers are included.
Small details like this can really make a car "show quality." Order one kit
per engine.
Part No: 129-1018 - ARP Bolt Kit - VP Holddowns - Black Oxide 12pt. - Price: $12.95 |

| Our ARP polished stainless steel
valley pan holddown bar bolt kits are exactly what people mean when they say "show
quality." Made from ARP's proprietary "300" stainless steel alloy, they are
rated at a minimum 170,000 PSI, which is even stronger than a grade 8 bolt!
And, you can't beat the quality, shine and corrosion resistance of polished
stainless, especially for the valley pan bars, where they are right up at
the top of the engine. Nothing resists the ravages of weather, time and even repeated
tightening and loosening like stainless. These are truly maintenance free! Matching polished stainless washers are included. Small
details like this can really make a car "show quality."
Part No: 129-1028 - ARP Bolt Kit - VP Holddowns - Stainless 12pt. - Price: $14.95 |

| Shown above is our brand new "factory
type" steel bathtub
intake gaskets. These are available for an "RB" (413/426W/440) or
"B" engines. "B" (361/383/400) engines
use a slightly narrower version of this gasket because of the lower deck
height (which puts the heads a bit closer together.) These also include a
tube of silicone to help seal around the ports and in the lifter valley
area. Part No: 112 -1001 - Intake Valley Pan Gasket - "RB" - New - Price: $18.95 Part No: 112 -1002 - Intake Valley Pan Gasket - "B" - New - Price: $16.95 |

| Shown above is the difference between the "B" and "RB" versions. An easy way to tell the difference at swap meets (aside from measuring the length) is to note how far the ends of the bars extend past the bolt holes. The top bar is an "RB," the bottom is a "B." Chrysler part numbers are 1859332 for the "B" and 1851665 for the "RB." One interesting fact is the the RB Chrysler part number is lower, (therefore earlier,) which would suggest the "RB" was in fact developed with or even before the "B" engine. It is commonly thought that the "B" engine was developed, and then later "re-engineered" into a raised deck version, (the "RB" or "Raised Block.") Perhaps this is because the "B" was introduced in 1958 and the "RB" in 1959. |
